Short Term accommodation and Respite (STA)

Short-term accommodation or respite stay at BJDSS is focused on improving living standards, offering excellent housing facilities, and build a supportive environment. With convenient options to choose from, our specialized care services aim to promote supported independent living among seniors and individuals with disabilities.

We Care offers short-term accommodation housing that includes houses, apartments, and villas. We can help you:

  • Assist in routine activities like cooking, laundry, cleaning, personal care services, and more.
  • Increase social engagement and participation with the community
  • Build essential life skills like financial management, daily skills for household tasks, and management skills through training
  • 24×7 personal care and disability services

In our Short-Term Accommodation setting, NDIS funding covers all relevant costs. Participants only contribute to transportation costs.

It might occasionally offer some people help in an emergency or when they are between housing options.

STA is funded in the “core” section of the NDIS budget under “Assistance with Daily Living” (Category 1).

If you want NDIS respite accommodation included in your plan, ask your planner or LAC about it in your planning meeting or in your review. Explain to them how it would help you to have this short term accommodation and assistance included in the plan, and take any evidence you have that can help support your request. This evidence might include letters from an allied health professional or even a support coordinator.
