Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

Over the course of your life, if you experience mental health problems, your thinking, mood, and behavior could be affected. Many factors contribute to mental health problems, including:

  • Biological factors, such as genes or brain chemistry

  • Family history of mental health problems

BJDSS can help you overcome barriers to recovery so you can achieve your goals. We can help you achieve

  • Increased social Inclusion
  • Greater independence
  • Stronger skills
  • Improved physical health
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Connections to other services
  • Stronger relationships
  • Creative expression

BJDSS is a NDIS disability services provider which includes psychosocial support assistance and capacity and skill building in our care packages for NDIS recipients. BJDSS can offer clients a Psychosocial Recovery Coach within their care package to offer one-to-one support and arrange targeted and suitable health services.

Psychosocial recovery coach is responsible for:

  • Building strong relationships for recovery
  • Supporting the person with their recovery planning
  • Building personal capacity, including around motivation, strengths, resilience and decision making
  • Collaborating with other systems of support to ensure they are all on the right track
  • Supporting engagement with the NDIS
  • Documentation and reporting

We believe that it’s important for all our clients to have a good understanding of what a psychosocial disability is, and how it impacts a person’s capabilities in life as well as their living conditions. Family and friends’ quality of life can also be significantly affected when trying to care responsibly for an individual who finds it incredibly difficult to maintain an adequate level of self-care. For instance, they may be time poor when trying to access appointments for their loved ones, or experience stress and anxiety by attempting to care for a mentally unwell person who has a poor ability to manage their own life.

BJDSS able to bring all essential supports to psychosocial clients responsibly and ongoingly. We offer a caring service that covers an individual’s social needs and helps a person live an improved life to the best of their capacity. These levels of assistance include life motivation, personal care requirements and completing complex tasks.

Mentoring service

Mentoring service aimed to support & motivate each other and targeted at young people (aged 7 to 35) who have a disability and are NDIS eligible.

We provide a safe environment to help build their confidence, get involved in their community, increase their resilience & open their minds to new possibilities. While spending quality time with a young person, our NDIS Mentors are responsible for supporting and empowering people who live with disability to lead a meaningful life and participate in their community in a way they choose. This also involves preparing, monitoring, and reviewing each individual’s NDIS Plan, to ensure person-centred support is always delivered and their goals identified are being achieved.

We create long lasting mentoring matches that aim to develop the young person’s skills, explore their hobbies and get involved in their community. Our priority is to match you with a young person who has a shared interest and complimentary personality. We focus on building your confidence together, empowering young people through choice and control to foster resilience and positive life choices within their community.

Medication support

When medication plays a significant role in helping to manage your pain level, maintain emotional wellbeing and enhance your quality of life, it’s important that it is administered at the right time and in the correct dosage. With an BJDSS team member working with you, we can make you sure you get the right medication on time, every time

Medication Support can often be provided as part of a care plan paid for by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Whether you’re already using the NDIS to fund your support package or you would like to explore the options available, we can help.
